REBBISHE VIKINGS TURN OUT THE LIGHTS – BREAK INTO THE TOP FIVE

Week 4 of The FM Home Loans AFI League saw it all under the bright lights at Kraft Stadium on a chilly winter night in Jerusalem. Teams came looking to find their groove as they head into the mid-part of the season. Many top teams were contended with and many fell in upsets for the other team. The competition is high, no team is unbeatable, every team has high hopes, and the journey continues to the 31st Holy Land Bowl.

Youngblood (4-2) Vs The Mobsters (4-2)

Youngblood came up short in their comeback bid after scoring a touchdown were unable to convert the two point conversion and fell short to The Mobsters 13-12 in game one. Youngblood stormed back in game two behind quarterback Moshe Dovid Weissmandl’s two touchdowns passes to win in game two 13-6.

Toras Chaim (4-2-2) Vs Blueshells (1-4-1)

Both teams fought hard in a game one 6-6 tie. In game two the score was once again tied 6-6 late before Toras Chaim drove down the field late in the game for a score to pull ahead in a 13-6 victory.

Orlo (5-1) Vs Chippie’s Chocolate Chips (1-4-1)

CCC picked up their first win of the season while giving Orlo their first loss of the season in an impressive 20-14 game one victory. Orlo came back to true form in game two behind quarterback Meir Reischer’s three touchdown passes to win game two 20-7.

Mercaz Moosen (6-0) Vs Big Blue (0-8)

Mercaz Moosen continued their impressive start to the season with big offensive play in game behind quarterback Dovie Dreyfuss’s three touchdown passes to win game one 20-0. Big Blue held their own in game two and was poised for an upset but came up short in a 14-7 defeat to the mighty Mercaz Moosen.

Bandits (2-6) Vs Service King Spartans (4-2)

Service King Spartans offense came up big in game one behind stellar quarterback play from Nussie Felder to lead his team to a 20-7 victory.  The Bandits battle back in game two and completed an impressive upset in a game two 21-14 victory.

Pizzeria Efrat (6-0) Vs BDMG (1-4-1)

Pizzeria Efrat’s veteran squad stormed out in game two behind star quarterback Akiva Schwartz’s three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown to defeat BDMG 25-7 in game one. With the score tied at 6-6 with under a minute left, Pizzeria Efrat’s cornerback David Abell brought back an interception for the game winning touchdown to win 13-6 in game two.

Joe’s Eagles (4-1-1) Vs Jay Feder Jewelers (2-6)

Joe’s Eagles took care of business in game one, with an impressive 14-6 victory.  Jay Feder Jewelers wide receiver Yoni Gluck pulled in the only score for his team which was enough for a game two 7-6 victory.

YLE Bachelors (4-1) Vs Rebbishe Vikings (2-1)

YLE Bachelors punched in a touchdown in their final drive to squeak by the Rebbishe Vikings in a 12-6 game one win. The Rebbishe Vikings gave it their all and mounted a comeback behind emotional play from their captains Moti Kassai and Solomon Assis to score on their last drive to currently lead 18-13 in game two (under ten seconds remain left to play).
